- ―Ben[src]
Ben Reilly (a.k.a. Scarlet Spider) is a minor character in the 2023 film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. He is a member of Miguel O'Hara's Spider Society used as a parody of overly gritty superhero stories.
Background[]
Personality[]
Ben is a broody and gritty individual who is burdened by his tragic past while also proud of his "bulging muscles." Ben seems to have a habit of narrating his own actions with overwrought exposition and is a funny individual on the outside, but is emotionally troubled on the inside.
Physical appearance[]
Ben appears as a young man with blonde hair. As the Scarlet Spider, Ben wears a dark red bodysuit with a blue sweater that had its sleeves ripped off, which has a black spider emblem on it, brown pouches around his ankles, gray capsuled gray web-shooters on top of the costume, white eye lenses and a utility belt that stores his web capsules.
Powers and Abilities[]
Ben seems to possess the same powers that most Spider-People have, with the proportionate strength, speed and agility of a spider, as well as the ability to sense danger on a physical level via a "Spider-Sense".
Equipment[]
- Web-Shooters
- Multiversal Gizmo (formerly)
Appearances[]
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse[]
Ben gets recruited into the Spider Society by Miguel O'Hara and is later seen when Jessica Drew introduces Miles to various Spider People. At some point after chasing Miles, he is asked by Miguel to come with him alongside Jessica in the manhunt for Miles. However, he got incapacitated by Gwen Stacy, who stole Ben’s dimensional travel watch and later destroyed it.
