Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation opens this Friday. If you like Quaker Life cereal or Quaker Chewy snack bars, both of them have special packages right now that can get you anywhere from $4 to $10 off a ticket.
One grocery store had 18 ounce boxes of Life in two flavors with a $5 code inside each one and Costco had a double-pack of just the Original flavor with a $10 code inside. There must be different values on the Chewy snack bars since the "How to claim your ticket" page says there's a $4 code and a $6 code.
Once you've bought one of these and have the code, head to https://www.quakerht3.com to start the redemption process. You're buying the ticket through the Fandango website, so make sure you read the terms and conditions, especial…Read more >

I am also going to be writing a FanFiction version of Popeye. Would anyone love to hear it soon?Read more >
The Emoji Movie has started playing in a few theaters and will hit the official release Friday. Fandango is offering $5.00 discounts on tickets purchased on their website by buying another movie.
Over at Walmart, you can typically find basic versions of movies on DVD for a few bucks. Sometimes they're budget repackaging, like "The Smurfs Collection: 4 Smurf Adventures", which has just the movies for The Smurfs, The Smurfs 2, The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol and The Smurfs: Legend of Smurfy Hollow. Others are the standard, full DVD with the bonus features for a movie that's been out on home video for a while.
Right now, they've got a display of quite a few of the movies by Sony Pictures Animation, with sticker on them offering a $5.00 discount. The …

Most fan fiction I see on wikis isn't identified as fan fiction by the person who made it, so it gets treated as a nuisance, false information or vandalism. Most people never show back up after they make it, which signals they didn't really care about it in the first place and that equals more clutter on a wiki. Others might have been scared off because it gets tagged for deletion.
There's something I've been working on that is really about how we need fan fiction on wikis because it's a creativity that can lead to creativity in other areas. I don't think most people would mind if there was fan fiction as long as it was identified as such.
So one experiment I'd like to try is to specifically allow fan fiction here. Each wiki gets two "namesp…Read more >
Note: This blog was written for another wiki where this is more of a problem, but similar efforts may be needed here.
In stories and in real life, there are patterns. Many of them are in the way the stories themselves are written. A common one is the "three-act structure". It goes like this:
- Introduce your characters and the world they live in. Something happens that gives them a goal and their life won't be the same ever again.
- They attempt to fix the problem but don't have the skills or information to do it yet. They learn more about themselves and what they can do.
- The pieces start coming together. The story and its subplots are resolved. The climax is where it gets exciting and intense.
A "four-act structure" splits point 2 in half so there…

Note: This blog was written for another wiki where this is more of a problem, but similar efforts may be needed here. There's a few pages where the Infobox contains more info than the rest ofthe page.
As part of getting things cleaned up here, the time has come to overhaul the Infoboxes.
The purpose of an Infobox is to give you the highlights of a subject in a standardized way. For example, nutrition labels with the calories and the serving size is an Infobox for food sold in stores. It's a brief list to cover the important points.
The Infoboxes here have steadily been growing past the point of highlighting the important points into being used the present most (or sometimes all) of the details about that character. Examples:
- Marty from the Mada…

In three weeks, The Emoji Movie premiers. As happens with any new movie, people are looking at the trailers that have been released and are trying to pin down exactly who does what and what they're like, based on a few minutes' worth of film.
Most of the time, the ideas and attributes they come up with for the characters are wild and far-fetched. A lot of it is taking those fragments of the movie and blowing them way out of proportion. It happened with Gavin from Ice Age: Collision Course. What people said he was going to do was nowhere close to what he actually did.
The problem is that people forget that movie trailers are designed to get you interested so you'll go see the movie. Certain things are emphasized while others are minimized or not…Read more >
I've been hanging around here for several years since it's one that has been the target of vandalism in the past. I was kind of hoping that someone would adopt the wiki so it could be cleaned up and updated. I didn't want it to be me because I've done that many times in the past and there were other wikis I thought might need an admin more than this one.
We're rapidly approaching the release of The Emoji Movie so I suggested to a person who has been very active here the past several months that they might want to consider adopting it. They've declined, so it falls to me to proceed with the adoption.
My goals for the wiki are pretty standard:
- New background image since The Pirates came out five years ago.
- Activate the Message Wall and a few other …
What if both Disney and Sony Pictures Animation would someday join thier partnership to create attractions based on three of SPA's franchises like "Open Season", "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs", and "Hotel Transylvania" for Disney parks at some point? In my opion, I would love to see that happened. And if that happens, I would love if those SPA-themed attractions to be only at Walt Disney World in Florida, for expemple, I would love if they could replace the Magic Kingdom's Tom Sawyer Island attraction into a water rapid ride based on "Open Season", I would love if they could make a trackless 3D simulator/dark ride based on "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" after replacing the defulted Wonders of Life pavillion at Epcot, and I would …Read more >
Hello, Sony Pictures Animation Wiki, this is Concernedalien11780. As a fan of animation and animated films, I like to see what major film studios are running animation studios and see if I like their films. At this point, my favorite Hollywood animation studios from best to worst are Pixar, DreamWorks, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Blue Sky, Sony, and Illumination Entertainment. The recently revived Warner Animation Group has yet to define itself, with The Lego Movie being the only film they've released so far, and so does Paramount Animation, with its only film released so far being The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water, so I'll wait to include them until they've each released at least three films. Sony may be my second least favorite…Read more >

Over the past couple of months we have been developing and testing a related videos module on some wikis like Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Halo. During these tests we have been tracking the number of video plays as well as collecting community feedback. We are now ready to expand the rollout to the rest of the site, and we are starting with wikis that there are the most videos for - which includes your wiki!
The videos we have are fully licensed from video partners we have developed relationships with. They include videos such as trailers, famous movie/TV clips, walkthroughs and behind the scenes interviews. We currently have video content from Screenplay and are working to create partnerships with other vendors, including Hulu, soon. …Read more >
The Pirates! Band of Misfits is now in theaters and we can finally get a taste of the first stop-motion film made by Aardman Animations since 2005's Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Of course, Aardman and Sony Pictures Animation collaborated on Arthur Christmas, but he wasn't made of clay, people! And we certainly can't sit back while this beautiful art form fades away, am I right?
Anyway, let's take a look at what the critics thought of the film. Check out the reviews below, and be sure to leave your own opinion in the comments once you've seen the film!
A sample of reviews:
- Sara Stewart (New York Post) - "The joyfully silly gags in "Pirates!" often feel old-fashioned in a "Looney Tunes"-esque way..." Full review

Wallace and Gromit on the high seas? Well, not quite, but the resemblance is certainly obvious! :) After the success of The Smurfs, The Pirates! Band of Misfits looks like it just might be another hit, and following closely on its heels is a star-studded potential powerhouse in Hotel Transylvania. With the likes of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, Cee Lo Green, Fran Drescher, Molly Shannon, and David Spade - Sony sure has thrown it's weight behind it's Animation division, and its starting to look like a very big year for SPA!
