Jo-Issa Rae Diop (born January 12, 1985), credited professionally as Issa Rae, is an American actress, writer, and producer, known for her work on the HBO television series Insecure, as well as her roles in the films The Hate U Give (2018), Little (2019), The Photograph (2020), and The Lovebirds (2020).
For Sony Pictures Animation, she provided voice work in Hair Love (2019) as well as its spin-off series Young Love (2023) as Angela Young and an online hair vlogger, and voiced Jessica Drew / Spider-Woman in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023).
