Kal is first seen when Johnny and Mavis arrive at the Mini-Mart. Mavis is blown away by all the different types of chips they sell. When she asks how do people decide which chips to get Kal simply shrugs.
Seconds later, Kal observes Mavis trying out all the different types of slurpies. After Johnny comments that they don't have time to try all the flavors Mavis responds with enthusiasm that the place is open all night. She turns to Kal to confirm this. Kal looks at her and responds "Yes."
After Mavis begins to jump up and down staring at the security camera Kal finally approaches them with a slurpy of his own. Mavis turns to Kal and tells him that he is so lucky to work here. Kal turns to the security camera and says hello to it, and smiles showing off his multicolored teeth from the slurpy.
