Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse[]

Peter's death and the discovery of his unmasked body revealed his civilian identity to the whole world. A mourning Mary Jane gave a eulogy for his fans and supporters who had gathered outside the church where his funeral was held. During the speech, she shared with them how her husband believed in all of them.

A few evenings later, MJ attended a party at the Fisk Tower hosted by Wilson Fisk — who was, unbeknownst to her, Peter's killer — in Spider-Man's honor. There, MJ approached a waiter — one who was also on the way to her — to ask for more bread at their table.

Because the man was dressed in a Spider-Man suit like the rest of the waiters had Spider-Man masks on, MJ barely batted an eye, not realizing she was speaking to an alternate version of her late husband. Not knowing this, MJ found the waiter's responses (and apologies) strange. MJ presumably evacuated the building with the rest of the guests when Fisk's Super-Collider started another big earthquake.

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, Mary Jane was Peter Parker's best friend and first love. Which was at the same moment where Peter was bitten by the spider.
  • This is the first version to be called Mary Jane Parker. Typically when she gets married it is stated she changed her name to Mary Jane Watson-Parker. It is typical for celebrity women to hyphenate their last name to both maintain the name they became famous as well as take the name of their husband as is tradition.
  • As with her Peter Parker, even though she is based on the Mary Jane of Earth 1610A (the Ultimate Universe) from the comics. The comics' Earth 1610 MJ have many difference being the more notable that she was never married with Peter Parker when he died and she was sixteen when Miles Morales become Spider-Man.
