Tombstone is one of the two secondary antagonists in the Sony Pictures Animation 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Background[]
Not much is known about Lonnie Lincoln's past prior to the film, but that he was born in Harlem, New York. And sometime after he grew up, he most likely had been injected with or exposed to either Diox-3 or some other serum that made his skin light grey and gave him superhuman abilities similar to his mainstream counterpart, and would become the gangster known as Tombstone, as well as one of the many supervillains that Spider-Man has fought in his ten years as a superhero. He was also, at some later point in time, recruited by the Kingpin to be his second-in-command and empirical bodyguard, as well as chief of security at Fisk Industries, and to assist him in his plan with the Super Collider.
Personality[]
Tombstone is shown to be generally stern and silent, only ever standing by Kingpin's side to intimidate and serve as muscle. He can be rather quick to serve his job as well, immediately drawing his dual handguns to kill Doctor Octopus when she fails to stop the Spider-Men from escaping from Alchemax with valuable information, only to be choked by her before being called off by Kingpin by lowering his twin pistols, allowing her to release him. He is also frequently chewing on a toothpick. Despite his general stoic nature, he seems to take pleasure in his work, mocking Miles Morales after he leads him, Kingpin, and his other supervillain henchmen to Aunt May's house where they find all the alternate Spider-Men.
Physical appearance[]
Tombstone is an albino man with razor sharp teeth, light blue-grey skin, yellow-white hair and brown eyes. He wears a black work shirt, a charcoal gray suit jacket, charcoal gray suit pants and a pair of black dress shoes.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Nigh invulnerability: Though still seemingly susceptible to some pain, Tombstone is highly resistant to physical injury, having survived having a car crashing into him and quickly recovering from blows dealt to him.
- Expert combatant: Tombstone is a skilled fighter, enough to be hired by Fisk for protection, despite the man's own strength. He was able to hold his own against Spider-Man Noir in hand-to-hand combat.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse[]
Following Alchemax's construction of the Collider, Tombstone was seen in the testing area's control room with the scientists when Kingpin arrived and introduced the machine to Spider-Man (who was trying to stop it, fearing it would end up destroying the city if used) and had it activated while the latter was fighting with the Green Goblin and the Prowler inside of the testing room. However, as a result of Green Goblin shoving Spider-Man into the Super Collider's energy in an attempt to kill him, the machine overloaded, throwing Kingpin, Tombstone, and the scientists back in the resulting explosion, while Green Goblin was simultaneously killed in the latter with Spider-Man being mortally wounded as a result. Tombstone, Kingpin and Prowler confront the gravely injured Spider-Man shortly afterwards (following him giving the USB drive designed to destroy the Collider to Miles Morales, entrusting him to destroy the machine) and he bears witness to Kingpin killing Spider-Man in response to him stating that Kingpin's plans for the Collider won't work.
Later, Tombstone joins Kingpin on his visit to Alchemax, where the latter pressures Olivia Octavius to fix the Super Collider by the next day. After Miles Morales, an alternate, disgruntled version of Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen escape from Alchemax with the information to create another USB drive, Tombstone is seen with Kingpin overlooking the forest, the latter recalling how his wife Vanessa and son Richard were both killed in a car accident. Doctor Octopus then returns, and, seeing that she has failed to recover the computer monitor and its system unit containing the information the Spider-Men need, Tombstone draws his dual handguns and threatens to kill her, only to be choked by one of her tentacles in response. Doctor Octopus proceeds to tell Kingpin that the appearance of the different Spider-Men (as a result of Spider-Man's DNA coming in contact with the Super Collider test) only confirms that the machine will succeed in summoning an alternate version of his family to reunite with, causing Kingpin to call Tombstone off, as he still aims his weapons at her despite being strangled and nearing death, and the latter does, lowering his twin pistols, allowing Doctor Octopus to release him so he can catch his breath.
The next day, Tombstone joins Prowler, Scorpion and Doctor Octopus in assaulting Aunt May's house as a result of Miles accidentally leading the Prowler there (after realizing that he is really his uncle Aaron) and gets into a fight with the other Spider-Men. He fights Spider-Noir with knuckledusters and is shown hitting with him a chair. This lasts until he is hit in the stomach with a bat by Aunt May, who was upset by the destruction of her home.
That night, Tombstone attends Kingpin's gala held in honor of the fallen Spider-Man on the top penthouse at Fisk Tower, where he nods orders at security to be on high alert as they patrol every floor of the building, all while the Super Collider is being reactivated underneath Fisk Tower. Tombstone subsequently joins Kingpin's other henchmen in ambushing the Spider-Men as they try to shut down the Collider (Kingpin and the other supervillians having anticipated that they would come and foil the plot) until Miles arrives to help them. During the fight, Tombstone is easily defeated in hand-to-hand combat by Spider-Noir.
Once the Super Collider is destroyed, Tombstone is seen being arrested alongside Kingpin and his other henchmen.

- Tombstone, along with Green Goblin, are the only villains that said at least one line of dialogue in the movie, while the other villains had more dialogue.
- Tombstone's appearance in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse serves as his first ever portrayal in film.
- In one deleted scene of the movie with unfinished animation, during the Spider-Men's infiltration of Fisk Tower, while sneaking through the fake Spider-Man gala, the gang snuck through the kitchen only to run into Tombstone and two mobsters, with the former asking the disguised heroes what was in the tray, and after speaking out some lies of what was inside, Tombstone opened the tray to find a nude Spider-Ham with an apple stuffed in his mouth. However, knowing that it is the Spider-Men in disguise the moment they entered, Tombstone played along and laughed at it, while remarking that he doesn't eat pork, and let's them pass. Once they left, Tombstone pulled out his phone to let his employer know that they're here, muttering to himself "Yeah. They think we're dumb".
- This scene didn't get completed and make it into the final film for reasons unknown, as it would explain how exactly Kingpin and the supervillains knew about and anticipated the Spider-Men's arrival.
- The scene also shows that Tombstone can be very perceptive, having instantly recognized the heroes in disguise, and was merely playing along so he can alert Kingpin
