An untitled film produced by Sony Pictures Animation was announced in December 2023 and was being directed by Matt Braly (creator of Amphibia), who was also writing the film alongside Rebecca Sugar (creator of Steven Universe).[1]
On February 10, 2026, Braly announced on X that the project would not move forward at Sony Pictures Animation.[2]
Plot[]
The film tells the story of a young boy who goes on an emotional journey to a fantastical world of Thai spirits where he hopes to have his illness cured before undergoing a life-altering operation.

- Matt Braly and Rebecca Sugar previously collaborated on the series Amphibia, where Sugar wrote and performed the song "Our Special Time of Year" for the season 3 episode "Froggy Little Christmas".
